This curriculum course addresses many important life skills and exciting life sciences! Provide your student(s) a kinesthetic and multi-sensory learning experience while addressing these units of study:

Food Waste and Conservation

Up to 40 percent of the food in the United States is never eaten.
Introduce your students to NRDC.
The Natural Resources Defense Council works to safeguard the earth – its people, its plants and animals, and the natural systems on which all life depends.

Food Safety and Contamination

Conduct experiments on bacteria prone food products.

Food Preservation

Discuss the science of canning and dehydrating. Students will learn how heat and proper preservation will protect food and their bodies from being exposed to microorganisms that cause foodborne illness.

Lesson plans, engaging video resources, and kitchen lab experiments are provided. This is an adaptive course designed to provide educators the opportunity to demonstrate, assist and supervise all experiments and operations. This course is designed to be led by an adult at all times. Full supply list is included with curriculum course.

Wide Mouth Pint Size Glass Mason Jars with Lids & Bands
Canning Tools: digital timer, canning funnel, combination bubble remover/magnetic lid lifter, jar lifter, kitchen tongs, and jar wrench.
